Op weg naar werk

Voor mensen met een lichte verstandelijke beperking is het lastig om een baan te vinden en te behouden. In dit artikel bespreken we daarom hoe de arbeidsparticipatie van deze mensen bevorderd kan worden en wat ze nodig om een duurzame arbeidsrelatie te krijgen. Uit onze analyses volgt dat het begint met bekendheid van werkgevers met de doelgroep. Zodra werkgevers een beter beeld hebben van de mogelijkheden van mensen met een verstandelijke beperking is de volgende stap het creeren van geschikt werk. Dat vereist vaak aanpassingen in het arbeidsproces gevolgd door een gericht wervings- en selectiebeleid. Daarbij hebben werkgevers hulp nodig van overheidswege en van intermediaire organisaties. Inclusieve organisaties zorgen er vervolgens voor dat eenmaal aangegane arbeidsrelaties in stand blijven.
